Review "Having studied Marzano's strategies at my school. I found Recording & Representing Knowledge a more detailed explanation of how to incorporate note taking, summarizing, and synthesizing techniques in my classroom. It is clear, consistent, and . . . flows in a logical, easy-to-follow format." -- Karyn Collie Dickerson "2014 North Carolina Teacher of Year""I love the graphic organizers and dramatic enactment ideas. I especially liked the Common Mistakes sectionthey point out things we teachers may not have realized could go wrong or how certain things we usually do are not getting the results we had hoped." -- Kathy Assini "2014 New Jersey Teacher of the Year""Recording & Representing Knowledge is about implementing a number of techniques that, when combined, have the potential to greatly increase student achievement. It's written in a way that is not overwhelming and makes the techniques seem 'doable.'" -- Jeri Jo Powers "2008 Kansas Teacher of the Year"

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I would have liked to have seen more examples of scenarios that fit ... By Holly I was hoping for more information than what was given. For $20, I was expecting information that hadn't already been given in his other books, and some kind of rubric available with examples. I would have liked to have seen more examples of scenarios that fit each level on the scale for this element. Perhaps, adding scenarios for all of the different techniques would have been helpful. As it is, with the few examples given and very little reference to the scale in iObserve and Becoming a Reflective Teacher, I wouldn't recommend this product. I would recommend Becoming a Reflective Teacher and Coaching Classroom Instruction, or if you want something free, I would recommend just looking in iObserve for each element and click the drop down boxes and the discussion tab to find better examples and videos.

I specifically enjoyed the linguistic and non-linguistic pieces. that made it easy to adapt to any elementary grade. I can't wait to choose another one from the series!!
