Discover: How to Lower you Blood Sugar without Medication using Natural Remedies

Diabetes is a common ailment today; one that affects millions of people worldwide. Unfortunately, most people feel doomed when diagnosed with this condition as the treatment recommended is harsh and controlling. The American Diabetes Association (2013) in its guidelines advises to rely on a number of prescription drugs to control the disease – which is ONE way to check diabetes Type-2; perhaps, not the best and definitely not the only one.

Benefits of Treating Diabetes Naturally

Prescription drugs are more often than not aids to control symptoms rather than a cure. While it is true that Type-2 diabetes does not have a cure, it has been proved beyond doubt – though not yet through scientific research – that natural remedies can control much better and bring it to a state where no medication is required. Research studies do show that diabetes responds best to a diet and lifestyle adaptation. The term “adaptation” is used because “change” often sounds too scary and alienates people from considering it. Diet and lifestyle adaptation need not be scary, bothersome or infringing on happiness. It’s just an adaptation; and the adaptation would not only control diabetes, but also bring along many other health benefits such as better heart health, better weight management, better nutrition input and better ways to make exercise a part of daily routine. The natural way is not only the easiest and least stressful, but also the best way to bring this ailment under control for life. Research studies have shown that dependency on biochemical drugs is more harm than help when it is relied upon over a prolonged period. Diabetes is indeed a disorder that can be totally and whole controlled naturally. This eBook will show you how – step by step.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Well written, but sad By Amazon Customer The main feeling I get when thinking about Then Sings My Soul: A Novel is sadness. Sad for Jakob's family that was in the genocide in Eastern Europe in the early 1900s. Sad for the heroine that can't have children. Sad that she didn't visit her mother sooner; sad for the decline of her father. Sad for the high school friend that made a mess of his life. Sad for the other people in the nursing home. It's a lot of sadness. There are glimpses of hope and redemption, but for me they were overwhelmed by sadness. Even when things turned out better I felt regret for what could have been. That part of it was very true to life; during that time in history there was much sadness. It is interesting to read about Jews that became Christians as Jakob's family did. They definitely had a strong faith since they risked so much to believe. However, the majority of the faith that is talked about is from memories of family members that have already died. It is good that they were strong witnesses that were well remembered. It was also interesting to read about the jewel cutting and jewelry business. I enjoyed that it was woven in throughout the story in different times and different eras. The book does alternate between the early 1900s and the late 1900s; as well as between the father's view point and the heroine's. It was not confusing and I was able to follow along easily and know who was talking.I do not have things in common with the heroine so it was hard for me to relate to her. I think the main hero in this book is her father. He is the only one in the current time and the flashbacks. The heroine's high school sweetheart is a good supporting character as is the kind neighbor lady. You can read more of my reviews at http://jendisjournal.com

I absolutely love historical fiction and stories of faith By PSS I absolutely love historical fiction and stories of faith, restoration, and redemption, and this book contained all of these elements so beautifully (and so much more). Amy K. Sorrells has such a special gift with words, and even though I learned extremely difficult things about Jewish persecution in Ukraine in the early 20th century, it was shared in such a touching and unique way. If you enjoyed the book Sarah's Key, you will love this one, too, because of the flashback style of writing mixed with mystery. My simple words just cannot fully express the depth of how much this story affected me. Thank you, Amy K. Sorrells, for another wonderful, inspiring novel!

Couldn't Put It Down By Kariss Lynch Amy Sorrells writes a gripping novel where past and present collide in a beautiful tapestry of emotion and relatable characters. I read an early copy and couldn't put it down! I teared up, I laughed, and I highly recommend. This book will make you treasure memories, history, and the bond of family.

There is a perfect storm undermining something important about America: the opportunity for people born into poverty to advance over their lifetimes. This book explores how to unleash opportunity in five key areas: early childhood, the graduation gap, foster care, juvenile justice, and predatory lending. For each issue Gerson explores the magnitude of the problem, Summers applies a theological framework for considering solutions, and Thompson tells the story of men and women who have journeyed through these issues. Social mobility has become increasingly stalled in America and the result is a class system in which birth equals destiny. Unleashing opportunity is now more important than ever.

Unleashing Opportunity: Why Escaping Poverty Requires a Shared Vision of Justice, by Michael Gerson, Stephanie Summers, Katie Thompson

Review "It's a gem. With uncommon wisdom, Unleashing Opportunity pinpoints five aspects of inequality that cry out for a compassionate response. It shows how personal involvement can change lives and promote public justice-a compelling invitation for believers to help narrow our truly alarming and dehumanizing opportunity gap." Arthur Simon, founder and president emeritus, Bread for the World, and author of Bread for the World and How Much Is Enough? "Unleashing Opportunity is a rare and masterful blend of vision and practice, well-considered philosophy, and practical action. It explores some of the most important and difficult issues of our day with uncommon insight. Perhaps even more importantly, Unleashing Opportunity helps teach us how to engage all of the myriad complex questions of justice and mercy with wisdom, knowledge, and grace." Jedd Medefind, president, Christian Alliance for Orphans, and author of Becoming Home "In a time when our political system seems ill-equipped to address perpetual injustice, this book recaptures a Christian case for politics. Whether or not you hold political office, you are a political person, and God intends for you to pursue justice in all spheres of life. This book will provide you with a clear, compassionate, and hopeful vision for doing so." Katelyn Beaty, managing editor, Christianity Today magazine "Who can deny the reality of increasing inequality in U.S. society? The injustice of this is easy to recognize. It's much harder to discern what can be done. This potent little book offers both a careful diagnosis of the problem as well as prescriptions that are concrete and appropriately complex. This book starts the kind of conversation we need to have." James K.A. Smith, PhD, professor of philosophy, Calvin College, and editor of Comment magazine "The opportunity gap is an urgent public problem that calls out for a Christian response. But addressing the gap can seem overwhelming. While acknowledging complexity, Gerson, Thompson, and Summers insist we can and must respond with a down-to-earth vision for public justice. Their focus on issues that are often overlooked in their effects on the poor is a particularly welcome addition to the ongoing discussion about inequality in our society." Kevin R. den Dulk, PhD, director, Henry Institute and chair, Department of Political Science, Calvin College "It is the precondition of public justice, write Gerson, Summers, and Thompson, to make the invisible visible. In this readable little book, this team fulfills exactly that precondition: stories, cases, and moving testimonies that shine the light on some of our most misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or plainly ignored social pathologies. Here is a real account of how the venerable tradition of Christian social thought is plausible, practical, and urgently needed for escaping poverty." Rob Joustra, PhD, director, Centre for Christian Scholarship, Redeemer University College, Ontario, Canada "Finally-a book that inspires us to be passionate about overcoming poverty, identifies particular issues to which we need to attend in order to unleash opportunity for all, and empowers us with concrete steps we can take to make a difference in the lives of those who are not thriving. As we allow our imaginations and practices to be shaped by the suggestions of these authors, we can move from a vague sense that we should care about today's injustices to specific engagement with issues and institutions that can move our society towards public justice. With motivating stories and powerful statistics, this book is sure to help its readers come together to actively seek the flourishing of each and every person in our midst." Kristen Deede Johnson, PhD, associate professor of theology and Christian formation, Western Theological Seminary

About the Author Michael John Gerson served as President George W. Bush's chief speechwriter for five years, was a senior policy advisor from 2000 until 2006, and was known as "the conscience of the White House."

By cliff Gerson, Summers, and Thompson offer a helpful overview of a number of factors which contribute to economic and social disparity in America. The structure of the text is very helpful in accomplishing its goals. Each chapter contains explanations of the point at issue and action steps which may be taken in response. Early in the text it is helpfully explained that societal woes may be understood as “a mix of structural and human needs – matters of law and matters of love.” It is argued that it is “the precondition for public justice: to make the invisible visible.” The book takes a two-prong stance of contending for both political engagement but, perhaps more importantly, individual responsibility.Christian communities are called to engage with the political system. The government is understood as a societal institution with the power to enact public justice – but it is not the sole proprietor of responsibility for justice. The text calls readers to do something – anything – but not everything. Readers are presented with an overview of the problems and invited into the dilemma via academic discourse and voices of individuals close to the issue at hand. The role of Christians as pursuers and enactors of public justice is taken seriously and portrayed as a great responsibility. The Center for Public Justice has set forth a helpful text for both understanding issues in child development, foster care, juvenile justice, education, and lending; but it also frames them in such a way as to call for heartfelt engagement in whatever issue ignites you passion.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This book discusses important issues around justice and equal opportunity ... By Susie This book discusses important issues around justice and equal opportunity in this country. It outlines a Christian perspective on human flourishing as applied to these issues. It is full of compelling examples of nonprofit and alternative organizations who have effectively met the needs that arise out of poverty. The only drawback is its brevity. Overall, it's an accessible book that inspires thought and action.

A Christian Vision for Economic Justice Without the Politics By Dave Ketter For as long as Christians in the modern era have been after a Christian vision of economic justice in Western society, it's been difficult for many authors to separate an application of economic justice that is faithful to the Scriptures and separate from specific political ideologies. The strength of Gerson, Summer, and Thompson's work is that they've set the ideologies aside and honed in on the economic challenges and injustices faced by the most vulnerable in American society. As an urban pastor, I can attest that they have rightly assessed the challenges faced by the children and their parents in the depressed urban segments of our society. The solutions offered are level-headed, and not ideologically driven, but offer a hope and a way for Christians--whatever their particular vocation--to engage the call to seek the welfare of the cities where the Lord has placed us. I heartily recommend this book to all who are desire to see the city flourish.

There are so many things that we do not have control over, things that we would not ever choose: cancer, loosing a spouse, tragic accidents. But we can choose how we will handle these things. Joy is a choice that anyone can make but not everyone knows how. Facing cancer, becoming a widow, loosing the future as the author saw it made her recognize that she had to choose a way to deal with the present.

Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. I was standing in my bathroom with two of my granddaughters in the bath tub, and my son, Noah, who was home from school for the weekend, when I got the call that would change everything. It was September 5, 2008, and for some reason I remember the exact time of day: 2:57 in the afternoon. The Surgical Oncologist’s office called to tell me that the biopsy I had had two days prior was positive for breast cancer. The voice on the cordless phone was blathering on as I attempted to take notes on a pad of paper. “Blah, blah, blah, carcinoma, blah, blah, means cancer, blah… We will call you Tuesday with the next step, blah, blah…Don’t worry. Try to have a nice weekend.”

The crying started before I pushed “end” on the phone. Noah hugged me. I called Steve to tell him, but I could not stop wailing. He told me he was on his way home. I suppose it must have been Noah who helped the girls out of the bathtub. The moments immediately following that fateful call are a bit of a blur. I remember Steve finally getting home, and crying with me. He held me so tight, loved me so much. He apologized for anything he had ever done to hurt me. And we both cried out to God.

I knew I had to let my kids know immediately. And of course my dad had to be told, and Steve’s mom, my brother’s wife, who had kept Steve company during my biopsy, and my prayer warrior cousin Mary. Phone calls were made. People started arriving. Everyone was crying, except Noah, the rock of the family who rarely shows emotion.

Later in the evening someone was finally able to get a call through to my son, Luke. He, my daughter-in-law Megan, and their two kids had left just that morning to return to New York after two weeks of leave from the U.S. Navy.

I tried to act to tough. I heard the same words repeated all evening: This is just a bump in the road, no big deal. Cancer research has come so far. Medicine in Grand Rapids has come a long way. Cancer is not like it used to be, it could be a lot worse. You are so strong. You will get through this. We’re so sorry. What can I do to help? I will be there for you the whole way. I love you. I will pray for you.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. An enjoyable, light-hearted read that will leave you smiling! Read this one :) By Michelle I had the pleasure of reading The Other Side of Later prior to release. It was one of those books that sucked me in right from the prologue. And you know what happens once you're sucked in, you can usually read the entire book in a sitting or two. I happened to have time free and was able to read in one sitting. A few days later, I went back and re-read. Reading in one-sitting and re-reading a few days later probably explains the reason I gave The Other Side of Later five stars. It's one of those books that is simply a joy to read. It was very well-written, which is one of the many things that impressed me from the start. For the author's first book, I was surprised how well the story flowed and how easily I was able to visualize the characters and events based on all the descriptions given. The characters are lovable and relatable. Their struggles and how they handle them are real. Everyone perceives characters in their own way but I found it very easy to connect to both Julia and Drew, as well as the supporting characters. Since the book is told through Julia's point of view, you are able to see why she is and acts the way she does. I can't say that I always agreed with her but as I said, I understood her and the only way you can learn and grow is through experiences and mistakes. And Drew... Oh that, Drew! I LOVED DREW! At times, I honestly thought "Is he too good to be true? There has to be something wrong with him." And while (I hope this isn't a spoiler in any way) there wasn't anything wrong with him, he was a character that grew and changed in different ways. I honestly couldn't love him more for all he brought to Julia's life. There are many lines I loved in this book, some will make you laugh, some will make you swoon, and some will just make you smile. I mean it when I say this book was a joy to read. If you're looking for a fun, enjoyable, light-hearted read then this is the book for you. Give it a try. HAPPY READING! :)

By Sacha V Synopsis:Julia Merina meets her dream guy in college and he sweeps her off her feet. Slowly, after they’re married his true nature of being a control freak and philanderer begin to surface. He leaves her as he admits he’s taken a reassignment across the country and that his long- time lover lives there too. Only after he leaves does Julia discover she’s pregnant. Now a single mother with a career that’s taking off she’s out running one afternoon when a summer downpour causes her to seek refuge in a nearby gazebo. Here, she meets Drew, a guy she knew, but didn’t hang out with from high school. They have a conversation and she discovers he’s easy to talk despite what she thought of him in high school. They begin to have a relationship and Julia begins to see Drew as someone she depends on. Her three year-old son, Carson is very comfortable with Drew and his dog Rosie. But, because of her ex-husband, she pushes Drew away knowing he’s nothing like the man she was married to.Even though Julia’s pushed him away, Drew shows up to her son’s pre-school Thanksgiving play because he promised the boy he’d go. After Christmas Mass, they again run into Drew who asks Julia to give Carson a gift which turns out to be a stuffed dog that looks like Rosie who Carson had become attached to. That was enough for Julia to realize what she’d thrown away. The Good:The book is well written and the characters are very believable. It’s a quick read that draws you in and there were scenes where I found myself arguing with Julia; “How can you keep pushing this guy away? Look how good he is with your son?” That sort of thing, which is always a good sign. The Bad:This is nit-picky personal preference stuff, but parts of the book tend to be very dialog heavy. I prefer a nice mix of action, dialog, and narration. The latter part of the book does this very well. Again, this is only a personal preference and has no bearing on the quality of the dialog which is written well.SachaI received a free copy in exchange for my review.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great classic romance story! By mint tea I received a free copy of this book in exchange for writing an honest review. This book is a classic but complicated love story, which I really enjoyed. It revolves around the hectic life of single mom, Julia, who is juggling work and a young son on her own. She doesn’t have any time for love and also doesn’t feel like she needs it. She has shut herself off for so long that she doesn’t know how to feel when a guy from high school shows up into her life again, and he’s nothing like she remembers. The story is sweet, and I like the way that Julia keeps evolving as a character, in a positive way. I would recommend this to people that like to read sweet romance books.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Girl Who Will Not Break By Happy Reader Prologue: An unnamed woman, alone in an elegant hotel room, orders champagne and lines up the bottles from the mini-bar along the side of the tub. She pops a bunch of pills, steps into the warm water, sits back and drinks everything in sight. Then she reaches for the razor. The story starts with Lucy Reynold's eighth birthday party. We learn her 16 year-old sister Ronnie is beautiful and mean, her mother is loving and subservient, and her father is violent. Next we're taken to Lucy current day, 17 years-old and a student at Lakes University, Ontario: "She was already accustomed to living on her own. She had left her home when she was fifteen and travelled the world before moving to the school. It was one of the solemn conditions she imposed on her father. He'd provide funds for her nomadic lifestyle for the last two years. She, in turn, would commit to 'settling down' and continuing with a higher education."Her roommate, Emma, cajoles Lucy into attending a formal dance with a group of friends. Afterwards, instead of going back to the school, the limos carry the girls out into the woods. Lucy and Talia are pulled out of the limos which race off. Lucy is afraid, but not enough to lose her head. Caped and hooded figures surround them, and eventually chant the rules of the Seven, including "We do not accept the weak."What does THAT mean? How much of yourself would you sacrifice to be "in"? Lucy is going to find out the answers to both questions.Several times, a chapter travels back to Lucy's earlier years. Her history is gradually revealed and we learn why she was chosen for the Seven. We also find out about the woman in the hotel room. Nirina Stone's writing style is good. Not flashy, but good. There were two places where "What Doesn't Kill Us" fell a little flat for me. The plotting is the big one. Except for a reveal near the end, which was a surprise though I struggled with its stretch in believability, the plot did not seem original to me. My interest sagged at the beginning, what with the capes and cowls and chanting.Secondly, I hope I don't sound pompous, but amorality annoys me in a protagonist. Wanting revenge I understand, but that doesn't mean I would always root for a heroine who embraces it to a drastic level. The book may have been stronger if Lucy had visibly struggled with the "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" idea, or recognized it in terms of the Seven. Even if she had eventually acquiesced to the Seven's nature, it would have shown her as more multi-dimensional if she had had a struggle before making her decision. However, I want to mention that this book may be the start of a series, so future books could take Lucy in different directions.I received a free copy of "What Doesn't Kill Us" for review.Happy Reader

A very awesome book cover By Tony Parsons It’s Lucy Reynolds (8, 3rd grade, aka Floocy) birthday & Ronnie Reynolds (Sr., Lucy’s sister) & her friends pull a prank on her.Fast forward Lucy (17) attends Lakes University (girls only) in 500 Lakes, Ontario.Emma Larkin (aka Lemon) was her roommate.King George University was having a formal dance.Badger (f) gave Lucy Reynolds some pills.Brad asked Lucy to dance.Later the hooded Seven (secret society) members had come for Lucy. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, cool map, great font & writing style. A very well written mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great secret society mystery movie, or mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.Thank you for the free Goodreads; Author; PDF bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good pacing and interesting characters By Cy Wyss What Doesn't Kill Us is the story of Lucy, both past and present. Lucy has suffered through an abusive childhood and is largely alone in college until a mysterious group solicits her for membership: the Seven. The Seven is a secret society of powerful women who take Lucy under their wing and give her all she needs: friendship, money, and growing confidence. The only thing which mars Lucy's induction into the Seven is that the other woman who was a potential candidate disappeared. Only one of them could have been chosen, so it is "convenient" for Lucy (although no one suspects her). What happened to her? The answer shadows much of Lucy's time in the Seven. Finally, however, that mystery is eclipsed by another deeper one. What is membership really based on? All of the members seems to have suffered trauma, but that is not enough. There is a deeper secret that binds these women, a horrifying one.I liked What Doesn't Kill Us. The pace is good and the flashbacks deepen the story without being intrusive. The final mystery is held close until the end and came as a near surprise to me, which is always nice in a book. The women of the Seven are interesting characters, all distinct and compelling. I wasn't that impressed by Lucy's erstwhile boyfriend, but that is a minor point. The book also lost a star for me because it is really more on the straight-up fiction side of things than a genre piece (most of the real estate is about Lucy's life and times), whereas I was expecting more of an action-oriented thriller. This is a fairly minor qualm and I debated whether to even dock a star for it. In the end, the truth is, I liked What Doesn't Kill Us and you will too.
