All these memories are still haunting me and I often get lost in day dreaming about the horrible past. Readers Reviews: A powerful and detailed account and very chilling to the thought of human activity to other humans. Very gripping and hard to put down, a highly recommend book. A compelling read and an insight into mans inhumanity to man.it seems unbelievable today how one deranged lunatic in Berlin could cause such destruction and persuade people to act in such a barbaric fashion towards others. I found this to be a fascinating read. Recommended. From the Heart of a man. From the depths of Hell. A harrowing narration of the Worlds darkest hours. This book should be compulsory reading in Schools. We must never forget. Thank you for all of the amazing reviews and purchasing this eBook.

19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. could not put this book down By JaneAC although I've read many memoirs about the holocaust this book contained information I'd never heard before, such as the underground who kept as many people alive as possible since they were actually in touch with the Americans unknown to the vast majority of prisoners. The American bombing of the camp was so precise that the barracks of the prisoners were untouched while the fine homes of the Germans as well as munition factories were destroyed. A real page Turner and excellent, intelligent recounting of what one man experienced during the darkest days of the war.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. I enjoyed this book because of the information about Emil Korlbach By Careful Shopper I enjoyed this book because of the information about Emil Korlbach, hero/villain (depending on an inmate's perspective) of the Buchenwald Jewish block. The pace was consistent, the details were thorough, and the writing refined. The book is about a Jew who was in the Resistance, and his son, whom he managed to hide during his own imprisonment. There is no "Epilogue", so while the reader may assume that father and son are reunited, it isn't stated.
