She wasn’t exactly a “good” friend, especially since she screwed her best friend over by screwing her boyfriend. I had a hard time seeing the good in her, but Fueled Desire gives her the redemption she truly does deserve.Abby hasn’t exactly had the best life, despite the wealth she came from. With an alcoholic mother who hated her and constantly talked down to her, and a father who was so engrossed in his business (and his secretary) that he barely knew she existed, it’s no wonder she craved attention. She finally realizes what a horrible person she has become and decides a trip alone is just what she needs to find herself. Just like that, she packs a bag and heads to the airport for the journey of a lifetime to Scotland, India, and Australia.The last thing she expected to encounter was the vulgar and forward Scotsman she’s seated next to on the plane, Clive Patterson - tall, red hair and emerald eyes, dead sexy in a kilt, and an accent to DIE for! It makes for an interesting flight and she’s definitely attracted to him, but has no plans to see him again. After all, this trip is meant to find herself, not jump in bed with another guy. She ends up at a bar, HIS bar, and one thing leads another. But still, he’s a good guy and she’s only here for a short time, she doesn’t want to start anything with him…but he’s determined and he won’t give up.In the past, Abby was all about the chase and tended to want what she couldn’t (or shouldn’t) have, but once she had the guy, she was done, no relationships. Once she caught Clive, would she still want him? Or better yet, once Clive learns of her past and her family, how truly awful and screwed up she is, will he still want her?Fueled Desire is my absolute favorite book in the Southern Roots series. Seriously, Clive is one of my most favorite book boyfriends EVER! This book has it all – it’s HOT, hilarious, and will have your emotions all over the place. Do yourself a favor and 1-click it, I’m sure you’ll fall in love with Clive, too.

Hot, steamy and yummy!Abby Masters is a girl of privilege. she has never had a care in the world when it comes to money, but when it comes to parents, she got the short end of the stick. Her mother can't stand her, and her father is so involved with his own life, that he doesn't have time for her.This makes Abby decide that it's time for a trip. A trip of all trips, to say the least. On the first leg of her journey .. going to Scotland, she meets the ever so sexy and hilarious Clive. The two part ways, once the plane lands and Abby never thought she would see him again. Low and behold, she walks into a bar and who does she see? The bar owner -- Clive. Hmmm, coincidence, or fate?Abby soon finds out that this man is NOT going to let her go. When tragedy strikes and Abby needs comfort and support, he gives her that, and so much more. Clive is a man that not only makes you laugh (because the things that come out of his mouth are hilarious), but he is also a sweet, sweet, caring man. When he falls, he falls hard.Julie did a great job with dialogue, accents and points of interest. I truly believe that she did her research on this one. Give Fueled Desire and the rest of the Southern Roots series a read. You won't be disappointed. Each character eventually gets their own time to shine in a book, thus far. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. I love an Alpha Traditional Kilt wearer!! By Kerry Fletcher This is the third book in the Southern Roots series. I loved the previous two and was really looking forward to this one.This is Abby's story. We met Abby in book one when she did some pretty bad things to her then best friend Lexi by sleeping with her ex Blaine (book 2) and trying to sabotage her new relationship with Robert. In this story we get to find out exactly why she was acting the way she did. From the start i felt really sorry for her and the way she had been brought up. Her story starts when she decides to go and be on her own and find out who she really is. She gets on the plane to Scotland and meets Clive... I've always had a bit of a thing for Scottish men and Clive lived up to fantasy!! God is he hot! i just loved the way the author put the accent into his dialogue it gave me tummy flutters!! Clive is a strong Kilt wearing alpha who sweeps Abby off her feet and takes her on a whole new adventure she didn't want at first. There are a few twists and turns along the way but Abby gets there in the end. The story kept me entertained from start to finish, in fact i didn't put it down from start to finish!I'm really really enjoying this series and can't wait for next installment Driven Hunger which is Makayla's story. I would recommend this book to anyone.
