Frank C. Schwalbe is a writer and anesthesiologist, who holds a liberal arts degree from North Carolina’s Davidson College and medical degree from the University of Florida. The dedicated and driven health care professionals, who surround him in the hospital’s daily grind, inspired him to write his new medical mystery, Toro!. His hope is that it appeals and pays homage to these unsung heroes for their tireless attention and devotion to patients. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Schwalbe currently resides in Concord, North Carolina.

It soon becomes clear that these odd events are linked to Allie's own violent past.The setting of Tampa, Florida, is a muggy backdrop for murders gone unsolved for years.
