Book of Encouragement By Susan Phelps Paul Hornback is a personal friend and although this book was written for people facing Alzheimer's Disease, it is a powerful, spiritual based collection of devotionals that will inspire and bring insight into anyone's life. Reading it has caused me to "stop" and "listen" to God's word and to try and focus on the "important" stuff in life and let the clutter go. Not only does Paul write the words he walks the walk with Christ every day with a servants attitude. This book is truly written from his Christian heart. My father and my in-laws suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's before their deaths so when I read this it helps me find the peace that I know God still remembered them when they could not remember God. He was always there to comfort them.I have purchased several copies as gifts for families with Alzheimer's, hoping that it will help them with their daily struggles. I would strongly recommend this book as a devotional for both Alzheimer's patients and for people who just need to read about the life of strong Christian man. You will find it hard to read just one page a day. May you find peace as you read these devotionals.

Great way for us to regain a daily spiritual conversation By Luanne Bole-Becker Was looking for something that would allow my husband and I to establish a short, daily, spiritual habit. This fits the bill well! My husband also has young onset Alzheimer's, so the insights are very applicable. And the reading level is good for us to take turns with, so it is also a positive cognitive exercise for him. He often gets teary-eyed during the devotional...it reminds both of us what is really important. Exactly what we were seeking.

This daily devotion book was written for Alzheimer's patients but the faith and insights from Mr. Hornback are approporiate for anyone seeking God's presence and power in difficult times. Hornback was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease while in his fifties, facing the fear and uncertainty with courage and conviction. I strongly recommend this as a powerful and encouraging read.
