74 of 80 people found the following review helpful. Great first effort By Anna Escorted made me smile almost the whole time I was reading it. As you'd expect, there's plenty of sex in this book but there's actually a plot to go with it, much like the porn they watch during their first appointment. =DThe story quietly follows Lori and Ander falling in love and shows how love changes you. There's no insta-love for those looking for it. Yes, she is attracted to him but one would expect a gigolo to be attractive, right? The story is told from Lori's POV (third person) as she gets to know the man underneath the polished persona. There's touches of humor (although not laugh out loud funny) but the book addresses how damaged Ander is to be prostituting himself. The comparison to Pretty Woman isn't very accurate. Pretty Woman never rang true to me because a streetwalker who isn't messed up in some fashion is rather unbelievable. The story tells us how Ander became an escort as well as how it continues to affect his feelings about himself. Of course, in the end, we get our HEA and it left me with a warm glow because I believed that Lori and Ander really loved each other and could work through any issues they might have to deal with in the future.There are a couple typos and extra/missing words but it's much better than most self published works which seems to be averaging at least one every page (in my experience).I got this book for free but I would gladly purchase future works by Claire Kent. So get working on them! ;)

I won't go into the detail of the story as it has been done many times over in different reviews.First, I agree with another reviewer with the lack of description in regards to character development and scenery. The story takes place in Seattle. That's it. No reference to the time of year- although I assume it must be winter due to the cashmere pajamas. Lori is an author, but surprisingly is never writing. She doesn't do anything except meet at a hotel for sex. I never got a feel for who she was, what motivates her and her writing. Ander is a blank page, other than his bald head and blue grey eyes. The author eludes to bad blood between Ander and his father, but never really gives us the backstory of their relationship and how they became estranged.I really did not like Lori at all. She pays Ander for sex, but she despises that he is a gigilo and has sex for money. What?? It bothers her that he doesn't divulge his personal life, yet she doesn't disclose that she is a famous author. Her hypocritical nature bothered me throughout the book.The sex scenes are clinical, almost disturbing at times. The sex is very one sided; Lori is multi multi orgasmic having 6 to 7 orgasms at a crack, which was totally unbelievable and weird. I found it uncomfortable as well when she would tell Ander it's ok for him to orgasm. The sex is very detailed and repetitive, especially the description of how he disposed of the protection after EVERY encounter.....Eewwww!!The repetitive verbs were annoying as well. Lori snickers and huffs with every encounter. Ander's lips twitch at every turn. The constant use of these terms were extremely distracting to the flow of the story.This story had a good premise, yet fell flat with one dimensional characters, lack of story development, and truly bad editing.

By Amazon Customer This book will work for those of us who are hopeless romantics and believe that love can happen to anyone and anywhere. For those who love the Pretty Woman and The Wedding Date line, will love this book. For those of you who want to relate in real life, this book is probably not for you. I got this book as a free book from Amazon and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. Not only was this book well written, characters well developed, but the book was exciting and steamy in a good way! Lori was a successful romance book writer, but despite writing about romance, her love life was completely non-existent. She was still a virgin at 26 and just simply wanted to get that aspect over with in her life. She asks her cousin for some help and her cousin refers her to the most recommended escort. Lori decides to give it a try and hires Ander. The first time she met Ander, she was attracted to him, not just physically, but there was something about him that intrigued her.As expected, her first encounter with him was phenomenal and she soon finds herself addicted to him. Ander is a complex character. Despite his profession, he seemed to have different things going on in his life and had personal issues. Even though these two people were opposites, I really loved their relationship together. Obviously, there is a lot of sex and steamy scenes, but they were all so well written it was fantastic. Not only does this book have a story line, it also provides nice character development and plenty of romance.This book was totally worth it, even though I got it for free! If you are looking for something you can relate to, then this book is not for you. If you are just looking to find a swoon worthy romance book and believe in fairy tales, then this book is definitely for you!
