Angie shines a light on a serious problem facing our senior community By Mark LeBlanc Angie Stone does an excellent job uncovering and educating her readers on a very serious problem facing our elderly. This is a must-read and must-share book with professionals in dentistry, and long term care. This book will save lives and improve the quality of life in the final chapter for your loved ones.

Critically Important Knowledge By Sally Flesch, Ph.D., R.N Ms. Stone's insightful commentary has a critically important knowledge base that we all must disseminate to care givers to improve patient care. Pneumonia has been the bane of older adults for generations and now we have one explanation that is preventable. She is also accurate with her observations of nurses, nursing assistants, and their educational programs. Attitudes as well as skills are taught. Professions traditionally dominated by women are still struggling for recognition and respect and sometimes those issues get in the way of excellent patient care. My hope is that the new ideas in this book will be accepted and utilized. This can really make a difference. As the population ages and the baby boomers grow old with their natural teeth, maintenance of good health certainly includes oral hygiene! Let's work together on this.

He wonders why at the age of 54 he was hospitalized for pneumonia right before Christmas 2014. Could be he had not received professional cleaning for 13 years before he finally made it to my office for Scaling and Root Planing in 2010? Then when I left this office he did not do his continuing care in a timely manner. The last recare was in 2013... if this is happening to our able bodied patients who can care for themselves... what can and will happen to our most vulnerable aging population.Thank you for speaking on preventive measures that in the long run can help our elders, they have contributed to so much, their needs do not need to be ignored!
