About the Author

John Boyages, MD, PhD is a cancer specialist with over thirty years experience in the management of breast cancer. Following his training at the University of Sydney and a fellowship at Harvard Medical School, he was appointed as a specialist radiation oncologist at Westmead Hospital in 1989 and established one of Australia s largest breast cancer screening and treatment programs. He is now the director and professor of breast oncology at the Macquarie University Cancer Institute, and a busy clinician who cares for patients at Macquarie University Hospital. He is the author of several books, including the award-winning Breast Cancer: Taking Control and DCIS of the Breast: Taking Control.
