Gastroparesis is a very difficult condition for a parent to suffer from, we know from experience. This book breaks down the condition and living with Gastroparesis in to the simplest terms in order to convey and allow a child to comprehend and get a grasp on the situation. While saving the child the complicated details and confusing language and medical jargon, this book will not only help them to understand, but it will allow them to feel included in lieu of telling them "everything is alright" when clearly they know it's not. "My Mother Has Gastorparesis" is told from a child's perspective and has been fully endorsed by my step daughter who at 11 years old has had to deal with her mother battling GP as long as she can remember.

A very insightful, gentle book for children, family and friends who have a family member or loved one who has Gastroparesis By Chuck Zendner I am a Mom & a grandma, I have Gastroparesis. It has been a devastating experience for both me and my family. I have been sick for 6 months. It has affected all areas of my life. It's very difficult to help others and especially family and young ones understand what a person who has Gastroparesis (GP as we call it) suffers through. My grandsons know I am sick. I bought this book in hopes to help them understand at their level, what their "Grammy" is going through. I hope my entire family will look through this great book ! Very little is known about this illness. There is no real treatment or cure. Many people face life long disability, surgeries, and difficult repeated hospitalizations as a result of developing this illness. Many of us face an uncertain and frightening future from GP and it's myriad of complications. I myself am now developing in addition to the GP a Neurological disorder. This is an added burden to an already life altering experience. I encourage anyone who has GP to buy this book for their family and friends. It helps provide a lot of awareness about the daily struggles involved when a loved one suffers from this complicated silent illness. I thank the author Timothy Thomas for writing this wonderful yet sad story. I hope it will help my son and grandsons learn about the daily battle that their Mom and "Grammy" has to go through. She is a "Warrior", and fights every day with this unending, relentless war !

From experience I know that is poor editing and publishing more then the author.I want to make sure that a few mistakes does not take away from how important this book is. It is amazing how something so simple can help so much. This book has been a great benefit and my children love it. Personally I think all GI doctors should have them on hand for when people are diagnosed with Gastroparesis! It is so difficult to explain why mommy can not bring them to the park or make it to a baseball game. As a parent I believe sometimes our emotions get in the way of our communication. It is amazing how much something so simple can help.Thank you so much for bringing some awareness to this cause and helping people like myself to communicate this message.
