41 of 43 people found the following review helpful. A good read with a few holes By TNMan38 First of all, let me say that I enjoyed reading "Sweet water." The characters were likable, the pace was spot on, and the storyline had potential. I say "had" because it started getting too pat about halfway through. I think the premise was fine, and, as I've said, there were some good characters, albeit a couple bordering on stereotype, but there were places where the author needed to dig deeper and places where no matter how deep she dug, she never struck credibility. Unfortunately, the love interest storyline eventually took center stage and that's where the novel began to go south, even farther south than Sweetwater, Tennessee. I think if Ms. Kline had another shot at this, she would do it differently. I'd like to think so because I think she's a talented writer.

This book held my interest throughout. Perhaps because of my age I found the grandmother to be the more complex character. Could have done without the steamy romance with the cousin. It didn't add anything to the story and seemed out of character for Cassie, not to mention stupid to get drunk and go to a motel with a total stranger. I expect that in chicklit which I try to avoid. I debated three or four stars and decided on three. This is not a keeper for me nor a must read for my friends, simply a good read for a lazy afternoon.

Do you ever really forget this story makes you think of your own family and the secrets it holds. This is the second book I read by Ms. Kline and both I couldn't put down. She makes you reflect on you own life and puts you right into the story I thank her for that,

Strong Characters In A Beautiful Romance By Erin Lowell This book, I can say - as someone who read more than one Maya Banks books - is a welcome change in her regular books where the heroine is a docile china doll in a golden cage.This heroine is strong without sounding and looking rude or brash, my kind of strong heroine. She knew when to fight and when to concede - wisely I might add. She may be at the end of her rope while her world is suddenly upside down but she maintain her dignity graciously and boy did she give the hero quite a run in this emotional (as I always expect from Ms. Banks) yet believable romance. Her flaw is relatable even her inner struggles.The hero is another story. A man with his own demons and baggage is irritatingly human. To me at least, he is that someone I want to knock into his good sense and to the author's credit, his character development is dramatically romantic. In the end, he is a hero that can melt any woman's heart especially when he gave his all to woo the heroine back into his life.Pippa and Cam's story might have a predictable plot but the twists and the circumstance of their romance is beautifully told. I understand this is a part of a series but their story can stand alone. The secondary characters are predictabley sweet as candy but they are as flesh out as the main characters.Overall expect a strong yet loving heroine, alpha male hero in a tux that needed heroine's loving, burning sheets, enough inner and outward conflict, and a beautiful story.

So glad I went ahead and read it. I thought it was the best out of the four. Though every time I seen Pippa's name I thought of Kate Middelton's sister.I really liked Pippa, it was nice to read about a woman who had the backbone to stand up for herself. Yes she got her emotions stepped on a couple of times, but she tried to do what was best for her, even if it ment walking away.Cam was pretty much a carbon copy jerk of his three other friends. (one of the problems I had with this series, all the men were exactly the same, just different names. They all seemed to be high on themselves jerks) But when it came to Cam's story and what he had been through, you could kinda understand why he didn't like getting close to anyone.In all it was a good story. Seeing the couple come together and Cam learning to deal with his issues was kinda sweet.

Boy tells girl he wants to screw her - one night only - and of course girl agrees (apparently he's incredibly sexy and rich). Boy takes girl to his mansion for a night of amazingly hot sex. All night. And it was all good until she gets knocked up. That's where the story turns and my heart hurt from there on out.I must say my heart truly ached for like 95% of this story. As soon as their night of pasison ended, it was a continual downward spiral, inching back up numerous times, only to force you farther down the spiral.The emotional rollercoaster ride left me sad, but I couldn't cry. Right when you thought it couldn't get worse, it did. And then it got worse yet. I didn't want to be all depressed waiting to finish the story another day, so I read the damn thing start to finish. I was glad, because there's a very happy ending that left me completely satisfied. Despite all of the emotions spilling from the story, I loved it!! :)

Though I am not a regular reader of romance, this story held my interest with solid dialogue, multi-dimensional characters and attention to detail.Though the sex scenes were hot, I found the conversation between the two main characters to be even more scintillating. The story's lovers are imperfect and intellectual and even as they act out what is essentially a D/s fantasy, their decisions, conversations and thoughts are believable and relatable.Caly is strong and intelligent and the struggles she encounters in the type of relationship this story features seem very realistic. Evan is quietly in control, not an arrogant douchebag and not an abuser. This is exactly what a mass appeal romance novel featuring power exchange should feel and look like.

Not your average kinky read By Angela Pruitt In a genre that is littered with mundane and plotless, ridiculous and badly written works of fiction, Caly's Game by Trinity gives me hope for lovers of BDSM-themed erotic fiction. The characters are interesting and multi-faceted, and the plot surrounding the "game" keeps the reader's interest piqued and yearning for more as the final pages of this novel are read. Kudos to Trinity for giving life to Caly, an intelligent independent woman involved in the BDSM community, who is neither a Domme with an overinflated ego, nor a silly, submissive shrinking violet. For anyone interested in the true personalities and situations within the real kink community, this book is a must read!

Trinity has crafted this book with genuine dialogue and authentic characters that readers can actually relate to. Caly is not a perfect size 4 and Evan is not a suave multimillionaire...they are real people living believable lives. Caly has a strong personality and never becomes a doormat for Evan. Evan likes to control but understands that control without consent is not even a good fantasy. Kink (BDSM, sex, rope, dominance etc) is the central theme and it's done well, combined with everyday life, probably because Trinity writes what she knows. I hope she writes more..maybe even a sequel to Caly's Game?

By Daisy S There are times that I have dizzy spells and wondered why most of the time. This book answered my questions and put me at ease at once. What Iearned is that I became dizzy during times of stress and anxiety. And this was explained in this book very well.Special PROS of this book:1) It explains ALL the causes of dizziness. There are 18 causes listed in the book. For me, it was easy to determine what caused my recent dizzy spell (stress). A couple of years of I had a middle ear infection which caused a dizzy spell and had to go to the doctor as it did not go away. When I had the stress caused one, I rested and relaxed and in three hours it was gone.2) Things to do DURING A DIZZY SPELL - this has very hand tips on how to treat and get rid of a dizzy spell in no time.3) Ways to prevent a dizzy spell - this was the most helpful chapter in the book as I was doing several NO NO's such as overdoing caffeine. Just restricting caffeine greatly stopped the spells and has kept me calmer and more stress free now.4) When to see your doctor - This is also my favorite chapter because I know when I need to see a doctor is the dizzy spell is serious.**This book is worth every penny!My score is 5 stars and I highly recommend it!

This book contains a lot of information about the causes of dizziness and dizzy spells, coping skills and its medical treatments. I learned that dizzy spells is caused by a number of non-pathologic conditions and pathologic diseases. These diseases stem from the inability of your body to maintain balance and equilibrium. It is necessary that you’ll consult a physician if you’re experiencing frequent dizziness. However, to lessen your medical bills and find another way of managing your dizziness, you must read this book. This book really provides easy guides about dizziness.

I might go to see my eyes check like the book's advice. Symptoms like dizziness should not be taken for granted. This is a very helpful read.

From the very first time they see each other, there is attraction and chemistry between Rhia and Luke. Together they work on rebuilding and fixing up Greywood Hall and researching the history of this mysterious woman who owned this place, while at the same time living together and fulfilling a contract between the two of them. However, it is not that easy as Luke and Rhia find their feelings for each other growing and changing and wanting a real relationship instead of just a mere contract.This book is well-written in a style that is easy to read and it will immediately draw you in and immerse you into the characters' lives. The writing is very descriptive and filled with imagery so that the reader will feel as if he or she is a part of the characters' lives and has an up-close, personal view of their world. The research that is done and the discussions of the past will transport the reader back in time, allowing the reader to unravel the mysteries along with the characters. Therefore, there are many things going on at once. The attraction between Luke and Rhia is strong and there are several "steamy" scenes throughout the book. Overall, this book is a quick read with lovable characters, a good mystery and a beautiful setting!

A Will, Forced Marriage, and Happily Ever After By Katherine I was intrigued from the very beginning by the premise of this book - Luke Salieri inherits a dilapidated estate with some very unusual conditions -- He is forced to marry and stay married for one year. Although Luke starts out viewing the whole matter as nothing more than a business deal, as soon as he hires Rhia Ashton to research the history of the house, things change.I found Rhia to be humorous and fun loving and genuinely interested in discovering why an elderly woman whom Luke barely knew would leave him the house. She is the perfect match for Luke, a man who suffered a loveless childhood and is tortured by his past.The best part of this story is their journey to happily ever after as they start out as perfect strangers who grow to become friends who realize they've found the other half of themselves in each other

I enjoyed the fact that a supposed amiable and easily led woman turned the tables and made the man face what is important in life. And it's not the pursuit of money and power.Monogamy Twist has at its core, a wonderful romance that grows from a practical base. The hero treats it like a business deal and the heroine treats it like an adventure and a challenge. What they both don't expect is that their personalities mesh, her sense of humor and his inner torment balance each other out. They both heal, they both find love and they both are stunned that a dead woman could have such a profound impact on their lives. The charm of the story is their journey and they go from perfect strangers in lust to friends and partners in love.Rhia is the heroine and the owner of Thor, the dog. She's spunky, intrepid and I enjoyed her ability to rise to a challenge and not get bogged down with emotional angst and typical female hissy fits when it comes to jealousy and backstabbing ex-girlfriends. She's pragmatic at best and equally lusty for her neighbor.The focus of the heroine's adoration and exasperation is Luke. He's a tortured hero who had a loveless childhood and is a bit dysfunctional when it comes to relationships. He dates the kind of women he knows but falls in love with the kind of woman he needs. Not that he admits that right away. He was so mixed-up, he didn't recognize the feeling for what it was.The story is strong and the romance is a delight. The issues that knock down the rating for this book are varied. There is head hopping, strange word/phrase use, a few five dollar words like, `salubrious', a hero who wails his complaint, emotional bouncing not in keeping with the character's voice or scene, over the top embellishment - case in point, how Luke's father died - and a lot of narrative where it came across not as a character's point of view but the author filling me in on the details. The revelation about Luke's mother made me laugh; the use of Danielle had me rolling my eyes, and after awhile the author forgot all about Thor. I didn't. Amazingly enough, despite all of the above listed, the author created likeable characters in Luke and Rhia which kept me invested to finding out how they would eventually have their happily ever after. And even though there were some odd mixtures of phrases, their dialogue was often funny and entertaining.Monogamy Twistis a cute story. It's lighthearted, enjoyable and Luke and Rhia made a terrific couple. The entire book is centered around an old English manor house which has fallen into disrepair. Because of that, the book almost had a historical feel to it even though it is definitely a contemporary story.Luke has just inherited this old manor house, but he has no idea why. He didn't know the lady who left it to him. But she's left it to him with some very stringent clauses....he has to live in the house for a year before he gets it and he must do so with his wife. A wife he doesn't have. If that doesn't happen, then the property will be abandoned for 50 years and will fall beyond saving. Something that this guy can't stand the thought of....this is what he does...repairs and rebuilds old properties, but 50 years will put this house past saving.Fortunately the day he discovers all this about the house, he also discovers Rhia...as they are both hauled off in police custody for trespassing....I really loved the way that this story started. Rhia lives in the caretakers house on the property and is a historian. She loves the old manor house too, so she's the obvious solution for Luke's "wife problem".There's also a tiny bit of a mystery to this story as both Rhia and Luke try to figure out exactly why he was left the house. It's a mystery that travels from England to Australia to Italy, which makes for some great ambiance in this book.There are little details about this book that I love. I love that Luke slips into Italian when he's turned on (and this book is HOT...he's turned on a LOT!) I love the history of the manor house. I got to live in England for two years and to imagine exploring all the old nooks and cranny's of a house like this would be just a fantasy come true. I love Rhia's little cottage. It just seems so cozy and I love that's where they live until they get married.Overall this was a fun read. It would be great to read this summer for your stay-cation where you can visit all these glorious locales through the words on the page...I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

By Sasha Hart I liked the book alot but there were times where the author just made huge jumps and didnt fully explain things. When the author did explain, it was awesome. I'd just like a little more explanation of the story between sex scenes and it's obvious the writer can do it because the sex scenes showed great detail. Those changes would have made it a 4 or 5 star for me. Still I would read more from this author.

Gail, a rich twenty-two year old, is pretty much a hot mess. Her mother dies, and then she falls for sexy Scott, who forgives her for doing something pretty awful. Then she runs away, then they're back together, and now they're not again. The latest breakup isn't handled very well at all by Gail and she is convinced that she wants Scott in her life, except there are further complications as Scott has some pretty important secrets he's been keeping. Another awesome read with relatable characters, interesting dilemmas and great dialogue.

I have been hooked since the first book.In Not Looking for Love episode 3 we get to see more of Scott and Gail. Gail and Scott break up and she won't take no for answer. Scott is dealing with problems of his own we see some secrets that are revealed about him.I really enjoyed reading this book it is a great series to read and enjoy. Episode 3 By Smut Hut Books Just when we finally start to see somewhat of a normal twisted relationship between Gail and Scott start to go where it should (as normal as these two can get), here come more twists. Always had my suspicion on the cars (all I will say as not to spoil anything) and what is going on with his family. It’s about time that those three little words came out between the two of them. Still would like to know more about Kate and Mike (Mark as she knew him) relationship though. Here we go again with one of them walking away from each other at the end of this episode. Onto episode 4 to find out where this goes from here with these new turn of events.

I have been told more than once that I should meditate. When I was given the chance to review The Meditation Beginner's Bible by Tai Morello I took this as a sign. I was given a copy to read and then review honestly.I enjoyed the book. I actually found myself using some of the techniques described in the book as I read. The chapters were easy to read and understand. I really liked how the information was broken down so simply. The benefits of meditation are presented in bullet form. Scientific studies were provided to give a more in-depth view of exactly how meditation works.Morello offers several methods of meditation. This is great for someone new to meditation as the options allow a person to choose the right method for themselves. I really felt like this book was written with love as it is clear the author truly wishes to make meditation accessible to everyone. The entire tone of the book is one of friendship and guidance to allow anyone to meditate.The only thing that did throw me off a bit was the title. At first I thought this book would be a guide on how to use the Bible as a meditation tool. The book is strictly a meditation book. I loved how myths were presented and busted. I loved the links to meditation tools. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in learning how to meditate to alleviate stress, anxiety, and pain.

Sometimes with non-fiction short reads you have books that do have lots of great information but are really shabby in terms of the writing...not this one! It's the total package when it comes to the subject of meditation! I really enjoyed Chapter 8 which focuses on turning meditation into a habit. Sure, this book is rock solid on topics such as the benefits of meditation, but it also acknowledges common obstacles to meditation and better yet, provides you with real-world solutions to said challenges. What a sweet read!

Children’s Bibles, teen friendly Bibles, and Bibles I wonder where they came from. Many were gifts, others I purchased along my own journey.When Eugene Peterson’s The Message first hit the shelves in October of 2002, there was a collective sigh of relief. People who had challenges reading any of the many translations of the Bible, now had, as Peterson himself calls it, a paraphrase of the Bible in today’s language.The Message is one of the many Bibles I own. Mine is a small, compact Bible. I bought it when I started Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the University of Virginia. I needed a Bible that would fit in my white lab coat pocket.Much as The Living Bible paraphrase a generation before had drawn people closer to God, so The Message does so. I loved reading the Bible in The Message and then going back to my more familiar translations and reading with a new perspective. I found that I'd often been missing out on the nuances of the original language until I read The Message and saw how Eugene Peterson brought the language to life. Now, Peterson offers The Message 100 Devotional Bible, laying out the 'story' of the Bible in unbroken timeline sequence and offered in 100 separate readings.We do have a way of trying to restrict God to language that sounds holy and formal, when in reality much of Scripture itself was written in the daily, everyday language of the people. Jesus made Himself accessible to the people. So, The Message does the same. It doesn't claim to be a study Bible. It does, however, attempt to invite everyone into God's Word and then encourage them to investigate and study and dig in deep to God's Word, to absorb it, meditate on it, chew on it, and make it a part of them.This devotional Bible is offered in the same vein as The Story and several other Bible studies that attempt to connect Scripture into one clear unbroken thread from creation to the cross to Christ's return. Topological psychology may be described non-technically as an attempt to comprehend human behavior in terms of the objects which are present, and of the relations among "events" taking place in a given environment ("life-span"). Lewin contends that it provides the basis for a truly scientific psychology. The Lewin's equation, B = ƒ(P, E), is a psychological equation of behavior developed by Kurt Lewin. It states that behavior is a function of the person in their environment. The equation is the psychologist's most well known formula in social psychology, of which Lewin was a modern pioneer. When first presented in Lewin's book "Principles of Topological Psychology," published in 1936, it contradicted most popular theories in that it gave importance to a person's momentary situation in understanding his or her behavior, rather than relying entirely on the past.

A Map Lovers Feast By John Pickering Principles Of Topological PsychologyLewin is marvelous and this book is so loaded with information and detail on how Gestalten might be used,viewed and tracked in the perceptual process, that it is an invaluable potential base for serious play in the minds of it's readers. The book is as powerful today as it ever was, and it was great from the day it was published. For people who like to think about thinking, visualizing what happens, and how things work, It would be difficult to find a better or more comprehensive book on "human mapping."The book is straightforward,well written, and a grand explication of how one might capture multiple aspects of human processing, scientifically or otherwise, in a visual format or a cognative map.If one wanted to find basic information on ideas like fields, boundaries,paths,interactions and a host of other ideas, he or she might be hard pressed to get a more fundamentally solid set of definitions and constructs with which to work. This is dynamite stuff. People who like psychological history will love to speculate on the importance of this book. People who like to reinvent the wheel will enjoy it one more time by embracing this seminal gem from 1936. I just love it.

Fascinating ideas on psychology By Nicolas.Bernard.Leclercq Fascinating ideas on psychology, he's not just copying the superficial forms of mathematics and applying them blindly to psychology. He is instead working through the methods that are used to construct a very specific type of mathematics, topology, and using the same method to construct a comparable logical foundational structure for psychology. The concept of “Life Space” by itself is fascinating. It is a bold enterprise overall.While he provides ample explanations for those who are unfamiliar with mathematical topology, I found that it still required reading a few articles on Wikipedia to provide elaboration on where he was going with some of his concepts.Lewin keeps referring to Vector psychology, seems like this may have been a planned work, applying vector mathematics to psychology like he did topology. Like he was on the verge of a breakthrough, but not quite there.The sober style makes for dry reading, but still well worth it though.

By Megan At Heaven's Edge is wonderfully written and had me at Chapter 1 The Elevator Accident ! I am on the First Aid Squad with Andrea and share the same faith in God. I feel the same way as Andrea and her preface is so right on point ! Thank you Andrea for articulating exactly how I feel. I thank God every day that I have the opportunity to be there for people when they need it most. I am truly blessed. I say, next to my marriage of 36 years, our 7 children and 3 grand children, joining the first aid squad was the best thing I have done. I love all of the individual stories and as I am reading them I can hear Andreas voice and sense her mannerisms because I know her well. Her faith and joy from knowing Jesus comes through in a most brilliant way. I am so happy and proud to be with her in this service. Andrea Rodgers is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, but she has been a volunteer EMT with a first aid squad for over 26 years. She started this amazing journey while just a senior in high school. The stories in this book span her whole volunteer career, but many of them come from her first years with the squad. You may be asking yourself, "What's so special about this book? There are many books written about EMS life, chronicling the lives and patients of these everyday heroes in communities big and small." This book is powerful. It showcases Andreas faith in God and compassion for her patients and their families. It is encouraging to read how she says a short prayer just before she encounters a patient, or in times when the situation takes a turn for the worse. She also prays for other paramedics, nurses, doctors, and medical staff attending to the patients. Furthermore, she says a prayer of thanksgiving when God has put his healing hands on the patients.The book starts off with a frightening personal story about a time when Andrea and her son were trapped in an elevator. She prays that God will guide them to safety. After the experience she and her son sought Christian-focused counseling that helped her start the healing process. Andrea says that over the next few weeks she began to pull herself together as she experienced the loving and healing presence of Jesus through the outpouring of love and support from friends and family. She soon returned to work answering first aid calls where she turned her focus to helping others in their times of crisis. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. A must read By Kathryn Petersen This is a wonderful book which made me both laugh and cry. It left me wanting more after each chapter. It is nicely written, making you feel engaged with and invested in the characters, and fascinating to think that every story is REAL. They are all written directly from the authors personal experiences on the first aid squad. I can't wait for book 2!
