Euka Auditor hates flying as much as she hated airports. But when the Royal Geographic Society asked her to go all over Europe to take pictures of the scenery, she didn't skip a beat. Mustering up all the courage she had, she took a rather interesting flight to London, England where her journey would begin. As the plane touches down at Heathrow Airport, she found herself in the middle of everything she hated about airports; the seemingly endless and excruciatingly slow lines of passengers, the smug immigration officers, the aura of short fuses and rising tempers. But, all of that didn't matter because she was in England. She dreamt of coming to this place and finally, there she was. As she took a cab, she enjoyed the scenery which the friendly cab driver generously offered to show her by driving around the city. Arriving at the RGS Headquarters, she's met by Rick Hartmann, her unofficial guide around the British Isles. After exchanging pleasantries, the two waste no time to go on with their adventure. Euka and Rick's routine consisted of roaming around the city either on trains, or on Rick's car and then lunches at local pubs. Euka snapped photos while Rick led the way, giving some insight on what to look for and why they should be looking at it. Rick knew his way around. He never tires in explaining popular English culture to a seemingly indifferent Euka. They summed up each day with dinner, some post-dinner chitchat and then eventually going into their separate hotel rooms. Euka Auditor was having the time of her life on this side of the Atlantic. She couldn't have asked for a better job; more so, a better companion. That was until, in one of their expeditions, Rick noticed that they were being followed. Euka tried to dismiss the idea. She thought it was probably just a coincidence or maybe Rick was just playing games with her just to see how she would react. One thing's certain though, everything is going great. Perhaps, a little too great. There's going to be a catch somewhere. Rick invited Euka to watch a Rugby match. By this time, they were a plane ride away from London. Euka took the opportunity to shoot more photographs to document the event. That is when she noticed that her bag was missing. Weaving through the crowd, she saw a man making a run for the exit. She followed but lost sight of him. As she was about to retreat, she felt a hand grab her shoulder “Did you see it? What did you see?” She saw the look on the man's face. As the guards took him away, Euka's suspicions grew. Who was that man? What was he talking about? What did she see? Girl On The Plane is the kind of story that will make you keep flicking the pages to want to find out what happens next.The story flows and slowly builds up to some great suspenseful scenes that really keep the suspense up and the wonder flowing. Great story, would love to see another from Nancy.
